I’ve always wanted to be intentional about my prayers and praying. I’ve always wanted to pray proactively rather than pray reactively. I am impressed with faith traditions that practice praying at specific times of each day. I enjoy a strong relationship with God and with my friends and family. Prayer strengthens those bonds and gives me courage.
When people ask me to pray for them I want to say, “yes I will pray for you” and really mean it. I discovered a way for both of us to pray together in spirit.
Whenever I lost the peace that I received upon awakening each morning I needed a way to restore that Peace. Park and Pray at a specific midday time is a way for me to press the reset in my day by calling on God to restore my peace.
Why 1:11 p.m.? God is One. One Holy Father, One Holy Son, and One Holy Spirit).
Many years ago, I noticed the number 1:11 p.m. often appeared in my life. For example my address, the mileage when I purchased my new car, significant dates, occurrences and affirmations.
Once I parked (paused) to pray at 1:11 p.m. while I was in a Home Depot store. Initially, I thought it was strange for me to stand still in a busy place and center on prayer. I looked to my right and a glaring sign caught my attention “Paint Sale $111.00!” I realized God has a sense of humor. I was even more convinced that no matter where I am at 1:11pm God is present and waiting for me to be present. So, I attend my daily appointment with the Holy One whenever I “Park and Pray at 1:11 p.m.” Eventually, I invited others to join this amazing spiritual journey of intentional parking (stopping) and praying (talking with God) at 1:11 p.m. daily.
Let’s park and pray at 1: 11 p.m. for 1 minute or more. You may use prayers available on this Blog or simply say, “Lord have mercy on…Lord I need…God forgive…Thank you God for...”Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me.”
